Suramadu National Bridge is the bridge that crosses the Madura Strait, connecting the island of Java (Surabaya), and the island of Madura (in Bangkalan, exactly eastKamal), Indonesia. With a length of 5438 m, this bridge is the longest bridge inIndonesia today. Southeast Asia's longest bridge is the Bang Na Expressway inThailand (54 km). Bridge consists of three parts, namely the overpass (causeway),bridges (bridge approach), and the main bridge (bridge).
The bridge was inaugurated early construction by President Megawati Sukarnoputri onAugust 20, 2003 and its opening was inaugurated by President Susilo BambangYudhoyono on June 10, 2009 [2]. Bridge construction is intended to acceleratedevelopment on the island of Madura, covering the infrastructure and economy inMadura, which is relatively low compared to other regions in East Java. Estimated cost of construction of this bridge is 4.5 trillion rupiah.
Making the bridge was carried out from three sides, both sides or side BangkalanSurabaya. Meanwhile, at the same time span was also carried out development which consists of playing bridge and approach bridge.
